reasons why I love them;
what I do to improve their relationship

If you don’t know them, the characters are Ronaldo [no last name in the show] and his girlfriend, Kendall Perkins. They appear frequently as side characters, and both as enemies to the title character of the Kick Buttowski show.Many people support Kendall with Kick despite this, due to enjoying their apparent chemistry in earlier episodes, like Dancing With the Enemy, & Hand in Hand. Both before Kendall’s flanderization in her treatment against Kick in later season two.In most scenes, while Kendall's receptive of the idea, Kick is often disturbed and not interested despite that chemistry.Unlike the fandom’s majority, I have no interest to sometimes dislike of that couple. I mostly am “meh, whatever” towards the Kindall pairing, in favor of this one, dubbed Kenaldo by the show’s fans.Reasons Why I support the Kenaldo duoThe question is why? It’s simple, really - their potential, & how Ronaldo treats her.I don’t claim Kendall’s treatment of him to be a good thing though, as I am aware of the couple’s problems. Kendall is typically found to berate him for his Special Interest in science, plugging it into almost everything they do. Putting inedible atom models into chocolates, “tasty & educational” (his words) writing her a poem in only zeros & ones…. (She’s not a computer, buddy………)Yeah, I’ll admit those attempts are lame & don’t exactly bring the couple to a positive light. But the point I’m bringing up, is that he TRIES. Ronaldo tries hard to be romantic for her, which is what Kendall wants in a boyfriend. She wants someone school grades type smart, sophisticated like her, but is also fun to be with & exciting. She probably saw Ronaldo’s kart racing as this, in addition to some science experiments prior to their becoming a couple. Think Dexter’s Lab style.That’s another thing - if they didn’t mix well, they would NOT have become a couple in the first place! There’s reasons, usually more than one, that two people decide to date each other. Yes, it could have been physical, with one or both finding the other beautiful / handsome, etc. But I highly suspect it was mental, & Ronaldo’s abilities of being romantic for her.What I do to Improve their relationshipThen there’s the potential! Think of how they both have possibilities to grow, learn, & mature together and separately as both people & a romantic pair. There’s also the issue of Ronaldo being portrayed as an actual Evil entity in the show. I prefer for him to drop the evil act as he ages with her influences on him.Likewise, Kendall sees that Kick is not going to be remotely interested in romance for quite some time, if ever. Thus, her secret crush on him fades over time, about 8 months to a year or so after the show was first cancelled. This allows her to focus on her current boyfriend Ronaldo, learning to treat him better, be more tolerant of his Special Interest in science, as he learns to not plug it into literally everything they do together. Instead, he becomes more traditionally romantic towards her like she prefers, making her happier, more able to enjoy his special interest.Now that’s the thing, Kendall does in fact, enjoy science & education almost as much as Ronaldo. There’s just a bit of reversal going on, with her focus being on education, not science like he is. The two subjects blend nicely together, so they can work together in harmony very easily once the problems mentioned above are tackled.———————————————————————————————My theories, additionally the development of this pairing, are explored more as they become teenagers & adults. In the show, they are both 10 years old….. yeah, it’ll take lots of time for them to get things right romantically.The bulk of things happen during their teenage years, as explained above. Around 16 ish, in high school, is when they are more relaxed in their relationship. They mutually care about each other, are attentive to their needs, & are equally romantic towards one another. I see Ronaldo as the type to continue being bullied as it was shown in the Power Play episode. Kendall readily stands up for him, & helps him learn to stand up for himself as well. Especially in ways that do not involve using someone else for his own benefits, like with the episode mentioned.On the more fluffy sides of things, Kendall is there for Ronaldo in times of doubt or worries, just like he is with her own. I headcanon him to be a spoiled rotten only child, yet he tries to understand & help Kendall on her problems with her sister she mentioned having in Pinch Sitter. They are that couple people yell at to “get a room you two!” at events, (some alter this to be “get a lab”, at which they confirm they already HAVE… technically Ronaldo’s lab, but meh… same idea.)
